A coming-of-age novella that takes place in 1959 Massachusetts. That year, when Sara turns 13, her closest relationship is with her 15-year-old cousin and best friend, Halley. When their two families spend the summer at a cottage in Cape Cod, a series of events takes a tragic turn and the two girls never speak again.
